Pinto Valley is an open-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050. Requirements

  • Knowledge of Tire Changing Procedures on Support Equipment.
  • Basic knowledge on pneumatics.
  • Basic knowledge of tire and wheel assembly.
  • Basic knowledge of tire chain assembly and maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of jacking and securing equipment based on tire maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of nitrogen handling and usage.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience marshalling light and heavy mobile equipment.
  • Ability to lead, mentor and teach less experienced lubrication technicians.
  • Experience in the operation of small shop equipment, aerial lifts, forklifts, etc.
  • Experience with OEM maintenance manuals.
  • SAP Experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License.
  • Previous experience performing related work in a safety-sensitive environment, such as the construction, farming, delivery or transportation industries.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the effective day to day execution of tire repairs and inspections on heavy duty mobile equipment.
  • Identifying tire related issues and managing daily tire survey.
  • Mentor less experienced tire technicians and teach tire repair best practices.
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and Capstone’s Values in Action.
  • Actively participate in line-out and safety meetings, contributing to safety discussions and operational efficiency.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.
