About The Position

The Mine Maintenance Mechanic at U.S. Silica is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on mobile mining and hauling equipment at the Lovelock Mine. This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and adherence to preventative maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime and ensure operational effectiveness.

Requirements

• Experience in mobile equipment maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment.
• Familiarity with cutting and welding techniques.
• Basic computer skills for securing parts and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Fulfilling preventative maintenance program requirements.
• Work in a safe manner and promote safety among co-workers.
• Routine troubleshooting and repairs on mobile mining/hauling equipment.
• Repair equipment in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
• Perform general maintenance and inspection of brakes, drive lines and tires.
• Cutting and welding with gas and electric; fabrication skills are a plus.
• Service equipment on a set preventative maintenance schedule.
• Clean parts, tools, and working area.
• Perform general auto and semi-tractor and trailer repairs.
• Secure parts as needed; computer skills are a plus.
• Operate various types of heavy equipment to evaluate problems.
• Inspect equipment and supplies regularly to ensure effective operation and availability of parts.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all federal and state safety regulations and company safety policies/procedures.
