About The Position

Turner Industries Group is seeking an experienced Millwright for a maintenance position in Plaquemine, LA. The Millwright position installs and/or maintains machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings and written instructions in industrial establishments. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Requirements

Candidates need to have a valid TWIC card, be able to pass DISA Hair and Oral Fluid Test, and pass a background check
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in specified skill
Written pre-employment qualification test
Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
Hazard Communication orientation/test
Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place

Responsibilities

Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
Dismantles machines
Moves machinery and equipment
Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers
Aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method
Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures
May operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications
May repair and lubricate machines and equipment
May be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates
Remove plant equipment, disassemble, repair and reinstall
Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
