About The Position

Millwrights are machinery repair professionals who fix, install and maintain various pieces of equipment and tools for factory employees to use. They’re responsible for reviewing and understanding diagrams and service manuals to determine how to properly install, repair or disassemble certain tools. Requirements

  • High School graduate, GED, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of relevant maintenance experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of standard practices of the Millwright trade.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, ordinances and regulations.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Able to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Computer Skills Basic skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Basic skills in CMMS software preferred
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the installation, maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting of turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, generators, speed increasing/reduction gears, couplings, boilers, and chillers
  • Work with operations and maintenance on repairs to equipment that include but are not limited to: replacement of mechanical seals, installation and alignment of rotating equipment, repairs to fans and blowers, repairs to reciprocating, centrifugal and screw compressors and pumps, basic knowledge of rigging and flagging.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed repair drawings related to construction equipment and machinery.
  • Dismantle equipment when required for repair or transportation and reassemble it at the appropriate time.
  • Move equipment to appropriate site for repair or maintenance to avoid contamination or workplace safety hazards.
  • Create solid foundations for machines on-site and instruct other construction workers about safe and efficient interaction with machinery and equipment.
  • Align and calibrate machinery and equipment parts as required for efficient and safe operation.
  • Grind and file machinery parts both on-site and in controlled circumstances.
