About The Position

The Millwright is responsible for installing, dismantling, or moving machinery and heavy equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, or other drawings. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, or a minimum of 3-5 years of applicable experience. A Journeyman Millwright has completed 8,670 hours in the specific categories required for training and completed 5 years of classroom millwright training. The position demands the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and routine reports and correspondence. Additionally, the Millwright must be able to prioritize and organize multiple simultaneous tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion, and possess excellent communication skills on all levels within and outside of the organization. The role also requires the ability to analyze information gathered in order to identify potential problems or discrepancies, work with minimal supervision, and demonstrate appropriate initiative while paying attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Installing, dismantling, or moving machinery and heavy equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, or other drawings.
  • Contributing to the development of a work plan that meets customer project requirements.
  • Interpreting drawings, blueprints, and following written and printed detail instructions.
  • Developing a materials list for each project as needed and working through purchasing to acquire those materials.
  • Installing and repairing mechanical systems and components such as pumps, compressors, motors, bearings, couplings, seals, and performing alignments.
  • Demonstrating fabrication skills and ability to meet customer ideas or project concepts.
  • Abiding by all site emergency plans and procedures.
  • Conforming with and abiding by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Conforming with all safety rules and using all appropriate safety equipment.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
