About The Position

S&B is currently seeking a Millwright Superintendent with senior craft leadership experince, accountable for execution of construction work within an assigned discipline or area on construction projects. The role is responsible for converting approved project plans and engineering deliverables into safe, disciplined field execution that meets contractual requirements for schedule, cost, quality, and safety. Requirements

Should have a minimum of 3 - 8 years of experience related to construction supervision, such as Area General Foreman or General Foreman.
Must be able to effectively manage projects that range in varying size and complexity.
Must have sound knowledge of cost and schedule adherence.
Additionally, must possess the skills to employ tact, diplomacy and influence.
Must possess the required skills to understand and manage the inter-working relationships between various craft trades (including sub-contractors), and the ability to anticipate and implement corrective actions to limit potential labor-related disputes.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required for effective communication, reporting, and documentation.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams is required, including participation in virtual meetings, collaboration through chat and channels, document sharing, and coordination with distributed project teams.
Ability to effectively use digital tools to support project coordination, reporting, scheduling updates, and communication across engineering, procurement, construction, and client teams.
Comfort working in a technology-enabled construction environment, including use of laptops, tablets, and mobile devices to access drawings, schedules, procedures, and project data.
Willingness to adapt to evolving company systems, software platforms, and digital workflows as project and business needs change.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering design drawings, technical procedures and specifications, government regulations, business correspondence and manuals.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures.
Ability to communicate directions effectively verbally to craft supervisors and respond to questions from clients, managers, and fellow workers.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Responsibilities

Reports to the assigned Project Superintendent, or defined hierarchy of the project organizational structure. Administratively reports to the VP of Field Operations.
Coordinate assigned mechanical construction activities, including boilermaker and millwright scopes, with other crafts, disciplines, departments, and contractors to support safe, efficient, and properly sequenced execution of work.
Maintain effective coordination with Engineering, Estimating, Planning, and Scheduling functions to align mechanical activities with approved drawings, specifications, budgets, and project schedules.
Develop, maintain, and manage three-week look-ahead schedules to support workface readiness and mechanical construction sequencing.
Plan and coordinate daily and weekly scheduled mechanical work activities, aligning manpower, materials, equipment, and access requirements with execution plans.
Apply technical understanding of boilermaker and millwright work, including equipment setting, alignment, bolting, welding, pressure parts, rotating and static equipment installation, to support constructability reviews, work sequencing, and issue resolution.
Support the identification and resolution of mechanical execution issues, including productivity challenges, work interface conflicts, constructability concerns, alignment tolerances, lift sequencing, and installation constraints.
Promote compliance with applicable employment laws and company policies, including EEOC requirements, and promptly report observed or reported concerns in accordance with company procedures.
Coordinate with Legal and Human Resources, as directed by management, in support of labor relations activities and workforce-related matters.
Request mechanical craft manpower in accordance with project needs and established staffing processes, coordinating with the Craft Personnel and Training Department.
Support mechanical craft workforce development by coordinating training needs related to boilermaker and millwright scopes, consistent with project requirements and company programs.
Monitor and reinforce compliance with project safety processes; document observed conditions and support corrective actions in coordination with Safety and project leadership.
Coordinate with Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering, and Commissioning to support mechanical execution, inspections, testing, and system turnover.
Provide input into labor performance metrics, including composite labor rates and productivity indicators, aligned with project controls processes.
Support management of field change activities, including field change orders (FCOs) and requests for information (RFIs), in accordance with established procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the role and business needs.
