About The Position

GTI Energy designs and manufactures complex modular systems supporting modular data center infrastructure, energy storage, and power generation platforms. Operating in a high-mix, engineered-to-order environment, GTI integrates structural, mechanical, and electrical systems into fully assembled modular units. Our production model requires precision mechanical assembly, system integration, and disciplined execution to deliver mission-critical infrastructure. GTI Energy is seeking a Millwright to support mechanical assembly and system integration within modular data center builds at our Goodyear, AZ facility. This role is responsible for installing, aligning, and assembling mechanical equipment and systems including cooling infrastructure, pumps, piping systems, and structural components within prefabricated modules. The Millwright will work from mechanical drawings, isometric drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM) to assemble and integrate complex systems in a production-driven environment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, precision alignment skills, and experience working with industrial equipment and modular or skid-based systems.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of experience as a Millwright, Mechanical Assembler, or Industrial Equipment Installer
  • Strong experience with mechanical assembly, equipment installation, and system integration
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, isometric drawings, and P&IDs
  • Experience installing and aligning pumps, mechanical systems, and industrial equipment
  • Experience working with piping systems, flanges, valves, and mechanical components
  • Strong understanding of tolerances, alignment, and mechanical fit-up
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement tools

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in modular construction, skid-based manufacturing, or data center infrastructure
  • Background in chilled water systems, cooling systems, or industrial HVAC
  • Experience working in contract manufacturing or industrial manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with rigging, lifting, and equipment positioning
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices
  • Trade certification, apprenticeship, or technical training in mechanical or industrial trades

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical assembly and installation of equipment within modular data center systems including cooling units, pumps, heat exchangers, and structural components
  • Install and align mechanical systems within prefabricated modules, ensuring proper fit, function, and accessibility
  • Assemble and integrate piping systems, valves, and mechanical components in coordination with engineering specifications
  • Support system-level builds requiring coordination across mechanical, structural, and electrical systems
  • Install, level, and align rotating and stationary equipment including pumps and mechanical assemblies
  • Perform precision alignment using levels, lasers, and measurement tools
  • Verify tolerances, clearances, and mechanical integrity of installed equipment
  • Ensure all components are installed to specification and ready for system integration
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, isometric drawings (ISO), P&IDs, and assembly layouts
  • Follow Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure correct components are installed
  • Identify and resolve fit-up, alignment, and integration issues during assembly
  • Support layout and positioning of components within confined modular environments
  • Install pre-fabricated piping systems including chilled water and cooling systems
  • Align and secure flanged connections, valves, and fittings
  • Support connection of piping systems to pumps, cooling equipment, and mechanical infrastructure
  • Ensure system integrity and readiness for testing and commissioning
  • Ensure all mechanical assembly work meets quality standards and ISO9001 requirements
  • Follow OSHA safety standards and internal safety protocols
  • Maintain high attention to detail to support First Pass Yield (FPY) and minimize rework
  • Verify torque, alignment, and installation accuracy across all mechanical systems
  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement
  • Identify inefficiencies in assembly processes and support improvements in throughput, cycle time, and takt time
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis using 5 Whys and Fishbone methodologies
  • Partner with Engineering to resolve mechanical design and integration challenges
  • Coordinate with Production, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to ensure material readiness and build execution
  • Support system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities as required
