About The Position

Currently, we are seeking a qualified Millwright/Maintenance Technician for our sawmill in Sonora, California. The role involves maintaining and repairing all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, installing, replacing, and repairing machines and equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. The technician will dismantle machinery and equipment, locate causes of malfunctioning or mechanical breakdown, and replace parts from stock or fabricate replacement parts as needed. Additionally, the technician will fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements of mechanical devices, effectively conduct and assess diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality, and assemble, install, and proactively maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment for efficient operation. The position requires operating an arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, forklift, and welding truck, as well as performing general maintenance in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean work area. Work may consist of various shifts and overtime including weekends and holidays during busy production times.

Requirements

• 2 years recent verifiable related work history or equivalent education
• Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools for repairs
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and bearings
• Ability to recognize, report, and repair mechanical defects
• Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility

• Perform general maintenance in a safe and efficient manner and maintain a clean work area
• Work may consist of various shifts and overtime including weekends and holidays during busy production times
