About The Position

Currently, we are seeking a qualified Millwright / Maintenance Technician to work collaboratively with our sawmill in Anderson, California. The position involves maintaining and repairing all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, installing, replacing, and repairing machines and equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. The technician will dismantle machinery and equipment, locate causes of malfunctioning or mechanical breakdown, replace parts from stock or fabricate replacement parts as needed. Additionally, the role requires fabricating machine components for repairs and improvements of mechanical devices, effectively conducting and assessing diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality, and assembling, installing, and proactively maintaining mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment for efficient operation. The technician will operate arc welders, cutting torches, hand tools, forklifts, and welding trucks, and perform general maintenance in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean work area. Work may consist of various shifts and overtime including weekends and holidays during busy production times.

Requirements

  • 2 years recent verifiable related sawmill/heavy industrial work history or equivalent education
  • Working experience machining on manual mill and lathe
  • Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools for repairs
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and bearings
  • Ability to recognize, report, and repair mechanical defects
  • Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus

Nice To Haves

  • Boom truck and crane operation experience preferred

Responsibilities
