The Millwright Foreman position at Hensel Phelps is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, dismantling, reassembling, and repair of mechanical equipment and conveyance piping systems. This role requires expertise in rigging techniques and lifting equipment, particularly in relation to water and wastewater treatment systems. The foreman will ensure that all work is performed safely and to the necessary specifications, while also leading a team of millwrights in executing these tasks effectively.

  • Ensure equipment is maintained according to client and manufacturer standards.
  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully understand project requirements.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilding of production machinery and piping systems.
  • Effectively operate hand and power tools to assist with equipment installation and maintenance.
  • Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, ensuring proper utilization and site maintenance.
  • Identify issues relating to the work being performed and notify the foreman or supervisor.
  • Maintain familiarity with common building materials, tools, and building practices.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of equipment and conveyance piping systems.
  • Demonstrate skills in intermediate/rough carpentry and familiarity with various metals and pipe materials.
  • Assist in rigging and movement of building components and piping.
  • Perform basic layout and produce accurate material take-offs.
  • Communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
  • Identify, prevent, and correct workplace hazards safely and effectively.
  • Keep an organized and clean work area.
  • Work off ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and inside confined spaces, as well as in various weather conditions.
  • Promote a safe work environment and communicate jobsite hazards.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • 1+ years' experience troubleshooting and maintenance of general mechanical systems.
  • 1+ years' experience using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction layout, blueprints, and technical instructions.
  • Follow safe work practices in accordance with the Hensel Phelps safety and health program.
  • Ability to take initiative and possess keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills with co-workers and stakeholders.
  • Strong mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills.
