As a Millwright Field Supervisor (formerly known as Foreman), you will serve in a working leadership role, performing construction responsibilities across Port of Seattle properties. You will lead and actively participate in day-to-day field activities of multi-craft PCS crews and work teams assigned by the General Supervisor and Management on small construction projects at the Airport, Seaport, and Marine locations. This role includes hands-on work related to mechanical systems, metals, welding, and metal fabrication, supporting interior, exterior, and grounds projects. You will prepare, maintain, and submit required documentation and controls for complex and difficult construction projects, including inspection logs, daily digital reports, project status updates, time tracking, toolbox meetings, materials testing, material and equipment needs, and safety requirements. You will also create Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for each project in accordance with PCS policy. You will read drawings, do material take-offs, identify staffing and resource needs, participate in planning and scheduling of project work, and communicate with the General Supervisor. You will complete a variety of tasks such as measuring, layout, bending, shaping, forming, and installing metal, laminate, and plastic components. You will repair and replace damaged or broken equipment components and fabricate bracing or support systems as needed. You will support underground utility installations, install and repair various types of fences and gates, work from heights on roofs or in manlifts to build, modify, , repair, and install different types of systems, Passenger Loading Bridgers (PLB’s), conveyors, roofing gutters, brackets, railings, and similar systems. You will maintain a safe work environment for both the work crew and public by properly setting up and maintaining cones, barricades, warning devices, and other traffic-control measures at work sites. You will also support additional tasks as needed to help the crews when work arises within the field. You will ensure compliance and enforce all Port of Seattle rules, policies, construction safety regulations, and PCS work requirements, while also ensuring that you and your crew complete all required training. You will assist in reporting injuries, incidents, and close calls as well as notify your managers. You will assess environmental risks and observe/monitor construction sites to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal hazmat laws.
