About The Position

Our client has an opening for a Millwork Engineer who plays a critical role in translating design concepts into manufacturable, high -quality custom millwork, metalwork, and cabinetry solutions. This position ensures seamless alignment between design intent and production execution by delivering precise shop drawings, technical specifications, and engineering solutions that uphold structural integrity, cost efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. The engineer collaborates closely with design, project management, production, and installation teams to resolve technical challenges, support estimating, and maintain quality throughout the project lifecycle. This role is essential to delivering exceptional craftsmanship and timely project completion in complex architectural environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Wood Technology, Industrial Design, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in millwork, cabinetry, or custom woodworking engineering
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD required; SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar tools preferred)
  • In -depth knowledge of woodworking materials, joinery techniques, hardware systems, and finishing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings accurately
  • Understanding of CNC machining processes and manufacturing workflows
  • Strong analytical and problem -solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a collaborative mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CNC programming and toolpath optimization
  • Familiarity with ERP or production management systems
  • Background in commercial or architectural millwork projects
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed shop drawings, fabrication plans, and CNC -ready digital files for custom millwork and cabinetry projects
  • Interpret architectural drawings, design specifications, and client requirements to inform engineering decisions
  • Engineer millwork components for optimal manufacturability, structural performance, and cost -effectiveness
  • Select appropriate materials, hardware, finishes, and construction methods based on project needs and standards
  • Collaborate with designers, project managers, production staff, and installers to ensure alignment across project phases
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to fabrication, assembly, and on -site installation
  • Review and respond to RFIs, change orders, and design modifications in a timely manner
  • Ensure all deliverables comply with building codes, industry standards, and client -specific requirements
  • Support the estimating team with accurate material takeoffs and technical input
  • Participate in quality control reviews during production to maintain consistency and precision
