About The Position

The Millwork Building Materials Driver is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of building materials and products as specified by customer orders and Company standards. This position involves operating a lumber delivery truck, performing safety checks, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The driver will also provide exceptional customer service and support to the team while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Class B CDL.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Track record of safety-conscious performance.
  • Strong process/procedure orientation.
  • Effective written and verbal communication/comprehension skills.
  • Strong team and customer service skills.
  • Ability to achieve performance objectives in a time-sensitive and quality-centered environment.
  • Demonstrates initiative and reliability with minimal supervision.
  • Safety conscious.
  • Knowledge of DOT compliance regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive and operate lumber delivery truck.
  • Assume responsibility for the proper operation and maintenance of company vehicle.
  • Perform daily pre and post safety checklists on mixer truck prior to and following hauling concrete.
  • Observe and obey all traffic laws in the operation of assigned company vehicle.
  • Record the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) log at the end of each shift.
  • Record all information on each delivery ticket and turn in a signed delivery ticket.
  • Deliver orders/building materials to each customer according to the specifications on the delivery ticket.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and team support.
  • Advise management of any customer situations beyond scope of authority.
  • Maintain a commercial driver's license (CDL) and department of transportation (DOT) medical card.
  • Maintain insurable driving record.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, identifying and addressing potential safety concerns.
  • Operate equipment according to specification and in alignment with designated safety standards.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Perform other duties as required.
