About The Position
Bituminous Roadways, Inc. (BR) is a growing, award-winning, and established union highway/heavy contractor looking for a Milling Operator to join our team. Our main office is located in Mendota Heights, MN, with additional plant locations in Inver Grove Heights, Shakopee, and Columbus. The Milling Operator will be responsible for operating a milling machine (specifically a Wirtgen) to remove existing asphalt pavement. This process is essential for improving the rideability and cross slope of the pavement, lowering the finished grade adjacent to existing curbs prior to resurfacing, or completely removing existing pavement. The operator must understand and follow specific plans to ensure an average depth of cut is achieved, and will operate the milling machine with a built-in automatic grade control system to control the transverse slope and longitudinal profile to produce the specified results. Additionally, the operator must manage dust control during the removal operation and may use alternate removal and crushing equipment as necessary. The position is seasonal, running from May to November, and requires candidates to pass a thorough background check, physical, and drug test.
