The Opportunity We’re hiring a highly skilled Machine Operator who can step into a fast-paced, precision machining environment and make an immediate impact. This is not an entry-level position — we’re looking for an individual who understands machining fundamentals, thrives on producing quality parts, and enjoys working with advanced technology and equipment. You’ll be part of a growing manufacturing team that values autonomy, accuracy, and pride in getting the job done right the first time. Location: Alexandria, MN Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm Targeted Compensation Range: $18 to $25/hour

Requirements

  • 3+ years of machining experience in a manufacturing or metals environment.
  • Hands-on experience with CNC and/or manual lathes and mills (Mazak experience highly preferred).
  • Ability to read blueprints, micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to independently set up CNC machines for production runs, including tooling and offsets.
  • Proficiency with Mazatrol and G/M Code programming to support efficient and accurate machining.
  • Confidence in inspecting your own parts to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for part design, programming, or process optimization.
  • Familiarity with ISO or QMS standards a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines (lathes, mills, Mazak, and related equipment).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and technical drawings with precision and attention to detail.
  • Maintain tight tolerances and uphold quality standards in every part produced.
  • Perform machine adjustments and tool changes as needed to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections to verify specifications.
  • Monitor production runs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area consistent with company 5S and safety standards.
  • Partner with engineers and supervisors to improve processes and increase efficiency.
