About The Position
The Milling Machine Operator at Gibson Brands, Inc. plays a crucial role in the initial stages of guitar production. This position is responsible for inspecting, preparing, and combining raw wood materials to ensure that the best quality units are provided for the body assembly and neckline processes. This includes inspecting raw wood for defects such as cracks and pitch pockets, utilizing specialized equipment like the Opera 5 sander to achieve optimal finishes and thicknesses, and managing the organization and labeling of incoming shipments of raw materials. The operator is expected to maintain a high production pass rate and adhere to departmental protocols, including safety and 5S practices, which emphasize organization and cleanliness in the workplace.
