Milling Machine Operator/Foreman
About The Position
Landis C. Deck & Sons, a division of The H&K Group, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Mill Machine Operator to become a part of our team. This position entails the operation of asphalt milling equipment in order to achieve daily production goals on road construction projects. Requirements
- 2 years of experience with milling machines on highway road construction projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret safety signs, manuals, and documents relevant to the job and equipment in use
- Ability to convey safety and operational information with supervisor and crew
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
Nice To Haves
- 4+ years of expevience with milling machines on highway road construction projects
Responsibilities
- Performs all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
- Operates the milling machine on road construction projects
- May perform other related duties such as shovel work, setting string line, adding or removing screed extensions
- Ensures equipment is safely and securely parked and stored
- Maintains equipment by greasing properly and checking fluids daily (oils, coolant, fuel level) and keeping clean and free of debris
- Performs daily checks on equipment to ensure proper operating condition
- Notifies shop foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs
- Other duties as assigned
