About The Position

The MAS Aide is responsible for assisting the Site Supervisor with planning, leading, and implementing experiences for children in small group settings. They will also be responsible for the general safety and development, growth of the participants in his/her group.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Education classes or experience in camp, youth programs, recreation, working with children, or in a related field.
Ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement program activities.
Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Background check and applicable fees may apply.
Must have the physical ability to lead and participate in program activities.
Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Assist in organizing and leading a variety of small and large group activities each week.
Activities may include outdoor, indoor and physical activities.
Identify and respond to student behavior issues.
Ensure that the site is kept clean, organized, and free of litter.
Communicate with parents about student’s experiences and report concerns to Site Supervisor.
Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, and daily attendance.
Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the MAS program.
Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the program.
This includes but is not limited to being responsible for the student’s safety and their whereabouts at all times.
Accepts the responsibility and arrives punctually for activities and duties as assigned.
Maintains appropriate emotional control, physical health and personal appearance.
Performs such other tasks and assumes other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by Site Supervisor.
