Millennium Space Systems, a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), is a fast, agile small satellite company focused on national security space. And when we watch our satellites launch, we know each one of us made it happen. The intern will work on MGSE, tooling and shop aid designs to support several of our programs. These responsibilities include: gathering requirements, modeling the design in CAD, creating flowcharts to demonstrate the use case of their design, drafting and releasing drawings, completing analysis on any load bearing design, and supporting their design through production. Majority of their work will come from designing ENV test plates for Vibe, Shock & TVAC tests, as well as supporting more senior engineers with their efforts. Some other designs MGSE works, that they may have a hand in, are: interface plates, support stands, lifting slings, transportation carts, shipping containers, etc. Over the course of our 10-12 week internship experience you will have the opportunity to: Ow n designs, drafting and analysis of several MGSE fixtures, such as: ENV test plates, support stands, proof load test equipment & shop aid Support senior engineers with their tasks of MGSE design, drafting, and first order analysis Support process plans and procedures to ensure their designs are used as intended Create chart packages and participate in review meetings for their MGSE designs to get buyoff from stakeholders This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. These positions must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Additionally, some positions may require the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
