Mill Operator - Dalhart, TX
About The Position
General Description / Objective The Friona Mill Operator ensure the accurate mixing and delivery of feed and related products to help improve feeding efficiency for the proper care for cattle and the feedyard facilities. They are directly responsible for their individual safety by adhering to feedyard safety policies and procedures. The Mill Operator adds value and quality services to the Mill Department by ensuring safe, and quality feed delivery processes in a timely manner. Successful candidates are highly participative, team orientated, and have high levels of communication. Roles and Tasks Operate controls and scales to produce a consistent, top quality ration per the Nutritionist guidelines. Maintain necessary records to ensure proper physical inventory into the ration Schedule ration flow with feeders to provide maximum efficiency and minimum carryover of finished ration Know location of all mill machinery Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean working environment to ensure a safe working environment Continual observation and adherence of safety policies and procedures Maintains inventory at desired levels Fulfills all reporting and record keeping requirements Mill Operators are subject to Feed Truck cross training as location requirements fluctuate The Employer retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.
Requirements
- Able to trouble shoot mechanical problems
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Ensures a safe working environment while performing assigned tasks
- Walking, standing and engaging in movement throughout the day
- Variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing, working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy machinery.
- Work may be performed in cold and/or hot temperatures and the environment can be dusty
