About The Position

The Mill Operator position is a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their ability to multitask, work as a team and use their leadership skills within fast-paced Gypsum Mill environment. Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, the successful candidate will conduct the daily operations of the Mill, assist in the implementation of safety programs and maintain/contribute to production levels for the calcining and processing of gypsum.

Requirements

  • Good work ethic, acceptable job performance, and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and take directions from a supervisor.
  • Skills to efficiently and safely operate Mill Mobile equipment.
  • Computer skills for data entry and reporting.
  • Ability to read and complete documented inspection procedures.
  • Familiarity with common hand tools and their proper use.
  • Demonstrate cooperation with co-workers in safety, quality, and production.
  • Trained or ability to be trained in the safe operation of a front-end loader.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily operations of the Mill.
  • Assist in the implementation of safety programs.
  • Maintain and contribute to production levels for the calcining and processing of gypsum.
  • Follow safety procedures and recognize unsafe conditions or hazards.
  • Utilize VWI's/JSA's, annual refresher training, Equipment lockout Analysis, and Confined Space Entry Analysis.
  • Operate Mill Mobile equipment, Calcining and Crushing Equipment from control screens.
  • Evaluate mechanical problems with the equipment and communicate pertinent information.
  • Perform quality checks and record results.
  • Use online tools to monitor product specifications.
  • Maintain a valid CDL and operate over the road mobile equipment.
  • Train under and complete all required MSHA and OSHA reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in workplace organization and 5S Initiatives.
  • Support and/or participate in continuous improvement projects.
