About The Position

Mill Operators are responsible for the setup and operation of welded tube mill. Responsible for quality, production, scrap, safety, and routine maintenance. Adjusts basic tooling and the holding fixtures on machines. Performs visual inspection of parts to identify burrs or damage to established standards. Loads and unloads assigned machines; prepares raw materials, follows loading procedures, and removes parts from the machine. Observes machine operation to detect part defects or machine malfunction and reports problems to supervisor.

Requirements

• One year previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Experience with tooling changeover setup and cutoff operation
• Skilled with precision measuring and inspection equipment
• Ability to follow work instructions correctly
• Basic data entry and computer skills
• Ability to perform basic shop math
• Proficient manual dexterity and superior eye-hand coordination
• Frequent need to see details at a close range
• Ability to operate tow motor safely
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
