About The Position

BULL MOOSE TUBE, a progressive organization dedicated to meeting our customers' perception of quality, is looking for an energetic, key contributor to enhance our operations at our Elkhart, Indiana manufacturing site. Responsible for: Welding, painting, packing, sorting, stamping, forming, fabricating, and assembly of all types of tubular parts and sub-assemblies. Requirements: Ability to operate welding equipment, single-stroke presses, and single-stroke tube forming machinery. Ability to operate single stroke metal fabricating machinery including but not limited to drills and single cut saws. Able to pack and sort parts. High school diploma or equivalent. Conform to all safety requirements. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Off shift hours 11pm - 7am or 3pm - 11pm

  • Able to pack and sort parts.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Conform to all safety requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • High School Diploma/equivalent
  • Prior manufacturing experience
  • Machine operating skills or ability to learn and comprehend
  • Speak and read English

Responsibilities

  • Operate automated welding equipment, single-stroke presses, and single-stroke tube forming machinery.
  • Operation of single stroke metal fabricating machinery including, but not limited to drills and single cut saws.
  • Placement of appropriate parts into fixtures, dies, and workstations.
  • Check parts for defects as required in Standardized Work Instructions.
  • Set up and arrange work area as suited for most efficient production runs.
  • Completion and reporting of applicable paperwork.
  • Maintain machine and work area in a clean and organized manner.
  • Other duties as assigned this position has cross-functionality and will operate in concert with other GRF positions.
  • Read and apply micrometer, caliper, gages and tape measure
  • Read and interpret slitter schedule.
  • Understand and use shop floor system
  • Select proper master coils to match slitter schedule
  • Enter master coils into slitter
  • Use of coil car, turnstile and controls for all slitter equipment
  • Operation of all coil entry equipment and controls
  • Proper threading of coil(s) through slitter head to re coiler.
  • Un banding procedure
  • Proper banding of coils
  • Slitter setup: Proper setup of head to match schedule; set up of rubbers, spacers, knives
  • Proper setup of over arm and under arm separator shafts
  • Complete knowledge of Company Safety Rules and precautions
  • Complete knowledge of Company quality requirements
  • Complete knowledge of Company housekeeping rules
  • Ability to run forklift and overhead crane
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Work cooperatively with others to ensure constructive and productive business relationships
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures
  • Be able to understand and effectively use computerized business systems and other technology and business platforms
