About The Position

The Mill Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and communication of day-to-day operations within the Mill and Feedhouse departments. This role ensures the safety of all operations colleagues, encourages safe working practices, and ensures compliance with occupational safety and health standards. The coordinator will communicate daily operational needs with various departments, provide direct supervision of Mill or Feedhouse colleagues, and offer consistent feedback on performance. Additionally, the coordinator will identify training needs, assist in hiring processes, manage area construction projects, and address production limiting factors. The role requires leadership to create a positive work environment and involves sharing on-call duties and providing shift leadership coverage as needed.

Requirements

  • Current Shift Supervisor or Superintendent (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role in a process-related position (preferred)
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to and leadership in plant safety, quality, and environmental programs.
  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Technical competence in process operations, mechanics, instrumentation, controls, calculations, and utility systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks, meet deadlines, and strive for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to utilize independent judgment to solve problems and establish priorities.
  • Computer proficiency and basic knowledge of DCS and PI software.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of all operations colleagues through encouraging safe work practices and compliance with safety standards.
  • Communicate daily operations needs with maintenance, I/E, contracting groups, and other departments.
  • Provide direct supervision of Mill or Feedhouse colleagues and Day Operators and Corn Receivers.
  • Provide consistent and immediate feedback on area performance.
  • Identify training needs for current colleagues and provide training to new hires.
  • Assist in the hiring process and development of Plant Utility and OIT colleagues.
  • Assist with the management of area construction and expansion projects.
  • Assist in the development of outage plans for area downtime.
  • Address production limiting factors and identify problems to eliminate them.
  • Aid in managing the department according to established policies and procedures.
  • Lead the department to achieve organizational goals.
  • Provide daily leadership and guidance after normal working hours and on weekends.
  • Share on-call duties and modify work schedule for special projects.
  • Provide shift leadership coverage as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
