Provides quality improvement feedback to staff. Works with milk kitchen leadership on schedule changes and time off requests, managing variable needs for staffing and compliance to departmental and system policies. Proactively trends system issues, identifies solutions and works with leadership team to continually improve systems. Acts as a role model and always demonstrates values-based behaviors. Provides leadership with feedback and input on employees’ performance. Assists with clinical staffing in any Human Milk Technician role as required, including staffing more than 50% of the time unless departmental needs take precedence. Follows Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics standards for breast milk and formula preparation and utilizes electronic health record and Timeless to complete accurate and timely documentation for preps, reporting and investigation. Requirements

  • High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) required
  • 1+ years required
  • Ability to read, write and perform necessary mathematical tasks.
  • Demonstrates basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse staff and patient population to ensure a culturally competent environment.
  • Collaborative professional and interpersonal skills necessary to provide effective leadership within complex systems that cross multiple departments and outside organizations.
  • Utilizes analytical, problem-solving, and change management skills to assess complex systems, implement and monitor systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Formula or Human Milk Technician preferred.
  • Formula/Human Milk Technician Certification from accredited program within twelve months of hire.
