The position involves testing all products that come through the bays, verifying manifests, samples, and tags per truck, maintaining logs, and communicating any irregularities to the Team Leader. The role requires managing and organizing incoming samples, running controls, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.

  • Manage and organize incoming samples, manifests, and seals.
  • Run positive and negative controls every 12 hours.
  • Re-supply lab materials from the storeroom or through Team Leader.
  • Communicate testing status of loads to milk unloader and tech.
  • Communicate CIP need of incoming loads based on manifest.
  • Record refrigerator temperature on log sheets.
  • Ensure that samples started are finished before leaving at shift change or breaks.
  • Maintain Charm antibiotic certification as an Industry Analyst.
  • Follow all antibiotic testing and reporting procedures when working in the lab.
  • Complete work on environmental cleaning log stored in intake lab.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ensure all broken seals match the number on the manifest and store for 2 weeks.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor, including covering for other employees.
  • Know how many tankers should be unloaded during the shift.
  • Comply with occupational safety and health standards.
  • Comply with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and delegate assignments to others.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
