About The Position

Assembling RF, fiber, network, serial, MIL-spec, and power cable assemblies according to cable run sheets, parts lists, assembly instructions/procedures, and assembly drawings Assembling rack mounted and desktop electronic equipment according to assembly drawings and procedures using common assembly tools and soldering techniques Conducting tests on assemblies and equipment using common test equipment such as multimeters, fiber scopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers Performing quality work checks to ensure the product meets safety and quality standards FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING #LI-LL1

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledgeable and able to apply basic mathematics to complete production tasks
  • Meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a Position of Trust
  • Ability to work on small teams or independently within a dynamic production team to produce superior products
  • Ability to assemble wire harnesses and cables using documentation, parts lists, hand tools, and knowledge gained through coaching and training
  • Ability to interpret schematics, sketches, specifications, and written or verbal instructions to build cables, wire harnesses, and small component assemblies
  • Technical capability to cut, strip, mark, terminate, and label cables using hand tools and other related equipment
  • Ability to inspect completed products and perform quality assurance functions to ensure cables, wires, wire harnesses, and assemblies meet project and customer specifications
  • Ability and willingness to follow safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures
  • Ability to clearly communicate job status and constraints to coworkers and supervision
  • Physical capability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds across the production floor for various needs
  • Ability to receive and interpret on-site training to learn soldering, fabrication, and technical requirements of the position

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years in a production environment focusing on cable and electronic equipment assembly
  • Experience building RF / Coax, Network, Power, Fiber Optic, MIL-spec, or serial cable assemblies
  • Experience with Navy shipboard copper, fiber, and radio frequency terminations
  • Industry-specific training, college, or technical school/education
  • Soldering certifications (IPC/WHMA A-610 is a plus)
  • Fiber termination certifications (NAVSEA/KITCO is a plus)
