Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math and 8+ years of related experience or 5+ years of related experience with an Advanced degree.
  • Ability to read and interpret repair requirements, and engineering part prints
  • Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Familiarity with typical repair and manufacturing processes including: machining, grinding, and special processes including shot-peen, welding, brazing, riveting, and coating processes including plasma spray.
  • Familiarity with commonly used tooling materials.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to program requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 8+ years tool design, manufacturing engineering, or repair development experience.
  • Unigraphics experience for the development of tooling concepts.
  • Teamcenter experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop concepts for new repair tool designs for Military Engine programs including the F119 and F135 programs.
  • Present tool concepts to USAF and JPO customers for review and obtain customers approval to proceed to detailed design and tool build.
  • Complete the PW Tool Design Review process and ensure tools are developed and produced in compliance with PW Repair Tool design requirements and customer expectations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and perform final checks of tooling developed at suppliers.
  • Review tool drawings.
  • Develop tool usage instructions for end users.
  • Present tools to USAF and JPO customers for final approval and acceptance for repair production.
  • Resolve technical questions on tooling from customers and suppliers; disposition eQNs.
