About The Position

The Military Pay Technician position at the Department of the Air Force is primarily responsible for providing a variety of military pay services for active duty, reserve, and retired service members, as well as annuitants. This role involves processing complex pay actions, managing debt collection cases, and delivering customer service related to military pay inquiries.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-05 level or equivalent in other pay systems, including knowledge of military pay procedures and regulations.
• Ability to perform arithmetic computations related to military pay.
• Ability to interpret and apply regulations and procedures related to military pay.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of federal debt collection rules and regulations.
• Experience with military pay systems and software.

Responsibilities

• Determine, process, and follow-up on a wide variety of complex pay actions in specialty areas such as active, reserve, retired, and annuitant pay.
• Research, audit, and make pay adjustments for complex pay problems.
• Manage, resolve, and process complex debt collection cases.
• Perform miscellaneous technical tasks in support of military pay actions.
• Provide customer service in person or by telephone, and complete correspondence.
