The Military Information Support Operations (MISO) Planner position at the United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) is a senior-level role that requires a deep understanding of information operations and the ability to integrate these operations into the broader strategic mission of the command. The primary mission of USSTRATCOM is to deter strategic attacks and ensure the security of the nation and its allies. This role is critical in executing operations within the information environment, particularly during the shaping and deterring phases of military operations. The MISO Planner will be responsible for providing advisory and assistance services to support information operations, which are essential for achieving command objectives. In this role, the MISO Planner will assist in planning support for USSTRATCOM's deliberate, crisis action, and exercise planning related to MISO initiatives. This includes analyzing joint and service MISO policies, plans, and programs to enhance operational effectiveness. The planner will also support the Psychological Operations (PSYOP) Branch in expanding the reach and resources of STRATCOM's influence programs, ensuring that MISO is effectively integrated into operations through the Joint Planning Process. The position requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of MISO, including the MISO Voice Funds, assessments, and the 7 Step MISO Process, as well as familiarity with joint warfighting doctrine and the Joint Planning Process. This role demands a proactive approach to establishing and maintaining relationships with both internal and external organizations to facilitate effective communication and collaboration in support of USSTRATCOM's mission.
