About The Position

SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships include up to six months of on-the-job industry training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work. NOTE: You must be currently serving on active duty to be eligible for this fellowship program. This program is not for veterans who have already separated from the military. As a Quality Engineer, you'll ensure all quality standards are met for our products and production equipment. You'll participate in the designing and testing of our processes, mechanisms, and equipment, and development of standardized quality acceptance criteria. You'll write inspection procedure, assist in reviewing and evaluating in-process rejections, obtain disposition, and implement corrective action as needed, as well as participate in audits. You'll provide support during planning, organizing, and conducting of our projects involving the design and development of new evaluation and control processes utilizing statistical analysis and other control/risk mitigation techniques. The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. Requirements

  • Currently serving as active duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Ability to review and disseminate contractual quality requirements
  • Understanding of FAA requirements
  • Knowledge of design for excellence standards to include design for quality and design for inspection
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions, and test procedures
  • The ability to obtain & maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Quality Engineer or Quality Improvement Associate or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Office and database experience
  • Statistical analysis

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve nonconformances, quality issues and prevent recurrence
  • Review, and approve process plans to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure they meet quality and regulatory requirements
  • Write receiving inspection plans for custom incoming inspection reviews
  • Use quality tools and methodologies, such as Six Sigma, Lean, or root cause analysis, to drive continuous improvement initiatives
