SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships include up to six months of on-the-job industry training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work. NOTE: You must be currently serving on active duty to be eligible for this fellowship program. This program is not for veterans who have already separated from the military. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Material Planner to join our team, playing a critical role in managing the flow of materials throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Conduct comprehensive MBOM (Manufacturing Bill of Materials) reviews and maintain strict revision control within the ERP system.
  • Manage the creation and processing of sales orders, manufacturing orders, and purchase requisitions/purchase orders.
  • Allocate raw and finished goods to meet production and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor material levels to prevent shortages and scheduling delays.
  • Support and maintain firm planned, released, and in-shop manufacturing orders to ensure seamless production operations.
  • Identify and resolve material and scheduling issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align and execute supply chain schedules.
  • Develop and maintain efficient supply chain schedules for optimal order and delivery planning.
  • Ensure timely and accurate planning of orders and deliveries to meet customer demands and production needs.
  • Utilize MRP systems to plan and control inventory, production, and procurement activities, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Currently serving as active duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program.
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field of study and typically 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • A higher level degree may substitute for experience.
  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
  • Exposure to the engineering change process.
  • Basic understanding of master production planning.
  • Basic understanding of Supply Chain Management and Logistics.
  • Familiarity with applicable manufacturing drawings.
  • Relevant experience must be in a similar role or technical position such as structural or electrical/avionics technician or quality control inspector.
  • Experience in performing or interpreting installations using engineering drawings, schematics, and/or technical documentation.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and interpretation or creation of work instructions.
  • Exposure to engineering design change control processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
  • Experience with Program Management.
  • Technical/Engineering degree.
  • Strong understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) as it applies to Supplier Management.
  • Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military.
  • Experience in Supply Chain Management and/or Operations Management.
  • Understanding of Unified Commercial Code (UCC).
  • Experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in digital tooling applications.
  • Familiarity in applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
  • Knowledge of industry standard design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing and production processes.
  • Familiarity with work instruction/traveler development.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Participation in dispositions of Non-Conformance generation through a Material Review Board (MRB).
  • Experience with new product introduction and transition to production.
  • Exposure to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems.
  • Experience with creating work instructions within a Manufacturing Execution System.
