About The Position

We are seeking Licensed Counselors and Social Workers to join our team in support of the DoW Military & Family Life Counseling Program (MFLC) on the Naval Submarine Base in Groton, Connecticut. This is a full-time salaried position that offers competitive pay and benefits. Responsibilities The primary objective of this role is to provide ongoing non-medical counseling services to military service members and their families. These services include non-medical, short-term, confidential walk-around counseling, training/health and wellness presentations, provision of health fairs, and consultation to installation command regarding behavioral health issues. Works closely with the installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to assure that the program is provided within scope and meets the needs of the installation. Required Experience and Education Master’s degree in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA) Valid unrestricted CT or RI State Licensure at the independent practice level (LCSW, LISW, LMFT, LPC, LCPC, LMHC) Minimum of 3+ years Post-Licensure Clinical Experience Required Understanding, sensitivity and empathy for military service members and their families. Ability to develop trusting, helping relationships. Ability to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds. Must be a U.S. citizen Pass a National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI) Clearance and an Installation Records Check (IRC), Criminal History Background Check and FBI Fingerprints Check. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA)
  • Valid unrestricted CT or RI State Licensure at the independent practice level (LCSW, LISW, LMFT, LPC, LCPC, LMHC)
  • Minimum of 3+ years Post-Licensure Clinical Experience Required
