This position involves providing the full range of Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) consultation and counseling services to military command, service members, and their families. As an embedded counselor assigned to a dedicated military unit, the role includes delivering non-medical, short-term, walk-around counseling, conducting training and health/wellness presentations, and offering consultation to brigade/regiment command on behavioral health issues, with a unique understanding of the military unit's culture and mission. The counselor works closely with Regional Supervisors, installation, and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to ensure program delivery is within scope and meets installation needs. Key responsibilities include direct counseling, data entry, cultivating relationships with military personnel and community resources, maintaining visibility within the unit, and responding to critical incidents and special requests as directed. The counselor must manage duty to warn and restricted reporting situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocol and participate in regular supervision, training, and program initiatives.
