About The Position

Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is changing the face of Navy training across the fleet. The Surface Training Systems (STS) Program Office, PMS 339, is the OPNAV single point of contact for strategic program planning, policy, acquisition, life-cycle management, research and development, and technical insertion into all existing and future Navy Surface Training Systems. Join the Serco team as we work to transform Navy training for the Sailor 2025 vision. This position requires to work in the office at the Naval Station, Norfolk. Therefore, flexibility to a hybrid work schedule is allowed. This position supports NAVSEA in the acquisition, stand-up, and lifecycle support for current and new combat systems in the Fleet, by means of high-tech trainers, simulators, and training devices for the Navy. Supporting PMS 339, you will focus on Aegis Ashore (AA) Team Training, but will also support additional trainers and training devices in the Combat Systems portfolio. This role is critical in ensuring the effective training, certification, and qualification of future AA teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in AA operations, particularly at the O5-Command level, and a strong background in the Surface Warfare (SuW) Mission Area. The candidate should also possess a deep understanding of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process and Defense Acquisition.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree with 8 years related experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (post employment).
  • In-depth knowledge of the PPBE process and Defense Acquisition.
  • Familiarity with AA organization stakeholders (USFF, CNSF, OPNAV N96, MDA, NAVSEA PMS 339, IWS 1, IWS X).
  • Strong understanding of MPT processes.
  • Experience with AATT and the AA train, certify, qualify process.
  • Prior Navy experience, preferably in AA operations at the O5-Command level (previous experience as a Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) is preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage AA and AA Team Training programs including the development of a new Trainer.
  • Develop and implement training curricula and materials for AA operations.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders including USFF, CNSF, OPNAV N96, MDA, NAVSEA PMS 339, IWS 1, and IWS X.
  • Oversee the AA train, certify, and qualify processes.
  • Ensure compliance with AA MPT (Manpower, Personnel, and Training) processes.
  • Support the Multi-Warfare Planning and Training System Project (MWPTS).
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to AA teams.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of AA training programs.
  • Collaborate with AATT (AA Training Teams) to enhance training effectiveness.
