Come save lives. Come grow with us. Schedule: PRN (as-needed). Working with adults and children at our Eating Recovery Center PHP program in The Woodlands, TX. Must have active TX licensure. The Milieu Therapist is a licensed therapist who facilitates skills groups and psychotherapy groups based on core curriculum, provides meal monitoring and meal support, and offers milieu support, de-escalation and behavior coaching to patients in inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels of care.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in mental health or related degree program- required
  • Bachelors degree- required
  • Intern or associate license from appropriate state licensing board- required
  • Strong knowledge of therapeutic principles and techniques- required
  • Ability to manage group dynamics effectively Proficient in keeping timely, detailed and accurate records- required
  • Demonstrated ability to handle crisis situations effectively- required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills- Required

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year facilitating group-based treatment interventions- preferred
  • 1+ year providing crisis management support and interventions- preferred
  • 1+ year performing safety assessments and implementing safety management plans to patients in treatment at higher levels of care- preferred

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates curriculum-based groups
  • Provides meal monitoring and support.
  • Documentation of groups, meals and patient check-ins and observations 15% • Provides support to Milieu including the following:
  • De-escalation and crisis management
  • Bathroom monitoring and support for eating disorder patients
  • Monitoring outside breaks • Conducts self-harm and suicide assessment
  • Support morning routine in IP/Res programs
  • Collects and reports weights, vitals and urine in some settings
  • Implements individual behavior management plans for some patients and serves as clinical lead for the program in standalone programs in evenings and weekends. Will lead some psychotherapy groups.
  • Coverage for Primary Therapists (for individual, family and group therapies as well as for patient assessments) with support from Clinical Manager or Clinical Director
