About The Position

Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108 bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents and adults. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and we bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking qualified applicants for a Milieu Specialist. Primary function of Milieu Specialist is to ensure patient safety. The Milieu Specialist assists CNO with planning and oversight of the MHT patient care role and overall goal of facilitating the provision of continuous and safe patient care, observation, interaction and role modeling to patient. Milieu Specialist is responsible for primary training, preceptorship and mentorship of the MHTs throughout the facility. Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in health or human services or related field required.
  • Five (5) years prior mental health/psychiatric experience preferred.
  • CPR Certification
  • Ability to pass fingerprint check and background
  • Skill in performing vital signs, electrocardiograms and collecting specimens.
  • Knowledge of patient rights.
  • Skill in developing therapeutic relationships with adults, adolescents, children and their families.
  • Human behavior or principles of psychology preferred including therapeutic relationships & processes, age specific growth & development, limit setting, crisis & behavior management.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years prior mental health/psychiatric experience preferred.
