About The Position

As a Milieu Specialist, you’ll play a meaningful role in working directly in a residential treatment setting to provide trauma-informed care and behavioral stabilization for individuals with complex needs including behavioral health conditions, autism spectrum disorder, and intellectual/developmental disabilities by assisting individuals in addressing their behavioral health needs, skill development, and tracking relevant health outcomes. This is accomplished through structured programming and implementing treatment in support of the individualized service plans. The position involves coordination, facilitation, and implementation of therapeutic activities, outings, skill development training, and crisis prevention and de-escalation, while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This position will work with individuals, parents/guardians, Boundless staff, and outside providers that support treatment and contribute meaningfully to whole person health outcomes of the individual served.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, or another related field OR at least 3 years or more of experience in the mental health field.
  • Must be able to communicate in English, including both spoken and in writing.
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • First Aid, CPR - adult, child and infant; delegated nursing.
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License with Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles; proof of auto insurance.
  • No more than 5 points on license.

Nice To Haves

  • Three-year experience working with individuals with behavioral health conditions, autism spectrum disorder, and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities
  • Experience in a residential treatment or inpatient setting
  • Experience working in a coaching/leadership role
