About The Position

The Milieu Specialist provides therapeutic milieu management, training of MHTs, and monitoring of the hospital units. Milieu management includes program content and philosophy, patient management training, environmental management, and staff competency.

Requirements

• High School diploma required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Five years of professional experience in a mental health hospital setting required.
• Experience as a Lead MHT.
• Current certification as a Non-Violent Crisis Intervention instructor required or obtained within 5 months of being in the role.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Current certification in BLS/CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic milieu management.
• Train Mental Health Technicians (MHTs).
• Monitor hospital units.
• Manage program content and philosophy.
• Conduct patient management training.
• Oversee environmental management.
• Ensure staff competency.
