About The Position

Nexus Family Healing is actively hiring an overnight Milieu Lead for the Southeast Regional Crisis Center (SERCC) in Rochester, MN! This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about mission-driven work while aligning communities and regional partners to provide the right kind of care for individuals experiencing mental health crises across southeast Minnesota. Nexus Family Healing is a national nonprofit network of mental health agencies with over 45 years of restoring hope for thousands of children and families through outpatient/community mental health services, foster care, adoption, and residential treatment. Position Summary: The Milieu Lead is responsible for leading and ensuring that the daily programming of the milieu is carried out in a safe and productive manner by leading the shift, providing mentoring and coaching of team members, ensuring effective interventions are implemented, supporting and ensuring that all care professionals are proactively following youth Individual and Family Guidance Plans and that the team is working toward youth treatment goals and supporting a trauma-informed milieu environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and some previous work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Maintains state regulating agency and company driving requirements.
  • Qualified candidates are required to meet the Mental Health Practitioner criteria as defined in MN Statutes section 245.462, subdivision 17 located at https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/cite/245.462
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in a social work, psychology, or clinically related field preferred.
  • 2yrs. previous residential and youth mental health experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Trauma-Informed Care: Support and mentor Youth Care Professionals, ensuring a safe, respectful and therapeutic environment for youth.
  • Shift Leadership: Oversee daily shift activities, guide staff deployment and maintain consistency in youth routines.
  • Milieu Management: Promote a healthy residential culture through coaching, real-time feedback and trauma-informed interventions.
  • Policy & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols, agency standards and support staff development in de-escalation techniques.
  • Documentation & Licensing: Maintain accurate records, uphold licensing standards and participate in staff meetings and training.
