About The Position

We are seeking a Paramedic to join Tufts Medicine growing Mobile Integrated Health team. In this role you will provide primary care and advanced life support, medical evaluations, treatment and stabilization of Lowell General Hospital patients with chronic and acute health issues in their homes in the Lowell area. Position Overview: This position is an allied health professional who possesses the complex knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care in the home and institutional setting in an effort to decrease emergency department and hospital utilization. Functions as part of a comprehensive mobile integrated response, under medical oversight and conduct detailed assessments and available diagnostics to collaborate with the medical control physician to determine appropriate treatments and intermediate care management strategy for patients with acute and chronic conditions. Responds to patient care needs, requests and places appropriate referrals, and provides education to patients and their families regarding their medical conditions. Conducts patient care visits with real-time communication with one of our board-certified emergency physicians or the patient's attending physician and works cooperatively within the healthcare system and other services to create a system of quality health care. Location: Lowell General Hospital - 295 Varnum Avenue - Lowell, MA Hours: 36 hours, Variable days/evenings/weekends

Requirements

  • Completion of accredited Paramedic program.
  • National Registered Paramedic.
  • Massachusetts Certified Paramedic.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Valid S tate issued driver's license.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • Must obtain Community Paramedic certification by the International Board of Specialty Certifications (IBSC) within one (1) year of start of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • BCLS, ACLS, PALS Instructor.
  • Incident Command System (ICS) course up to 200 level.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Three (3) years of experience in community paramedicine or mobile integrated health.
