The Entry MIG Welder role is responsible for independently setting up and operating MOG welders and joining weldments together to drawing specification. The position involves welding a minimum of 4 different product line frames and parts in the department to standard, understanding how to correctly use the AS400 programming functions, and maintaining various documentation such as Drawings, Non-Cad Process Sheets, B.O.Ms, Cover Sheets, and Operating Instructions. The welder will operate the welding machine, perform maintenance, and ensure safety procedures are followed while maintaining a clean work environment. The role requires welding parts to standard within expected time requirements with excellent quality and modeling Team Member Expected Behaviors and Henny Penny core values.

  • Welds a minimum of 4 different product line frames and parts in department to standard.
  • Understands how to correctly use the AS400 programming functions.
  • Utilizes and maintains Drawings, Non-Cad Process Sheets, B.O.Ms, Cover Sheets, and Operating Instructions.
  • Operates weld machine and performs maintenance such as set up of WFS/Amperage, Voltage, and gas settings.
  • Troubleshoots fixture issues and identifies and corrects defects independently.
  • Demonstrates consistency in practicing all safety procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Welds parts to standard within expected time requirements with excellent quality.
  • Models Team Member Expected Behaviors and Henny Penny core values.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • 1-3 years of MIG welding experience.
  • Must have completed HP Weld Training Course and passed welding test or have previous MIG Welding experience.
  • Ability to frequently lift or move objects up to 80 lbs.
  • Good vision and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.
  • Knowledge of basic math skills.
  • Ability to understand manufacturing processes such as Kanban, AS400, BOM viewer, Process Sheets, etc.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug screen, background check screen, and motor vehicle screen (if applicable).
