About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious MIG Welder on 2nd shift (3PM to 1 AM-overtime available as well) to join our team in Waukesha. The ideal candidate will be proficient in MIG welding processes and have the ability to read blueprints to fabricate and assemble high-quality metal components. This role is essential to our production operations, and a strong work ethic and attention to detail are a must.

Requirements

  • 3 years of prior MIG welding experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, welding symbols, and schematics.
  • Proficiency in using measuring devices such as tape measures, squares, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Background check and drug test prior to hire
  • Ability to stand for up to 8–10 hours per day, with periods of walking or sitting as needed.
  • Capability to lift and move raw materials and finished weldments up to 50 pounds regularly, with assistance for heavier items.
  • Physical stamina to handle repetitive movements, bending, kneeling, and working in various positions.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, dust, and fumes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG (Gas Metal Arc Welding) operations to join metal parts, with expertise in welding mild steel.
  • Read and accurately interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to ensure products meet design specifications and tolerances.
  • Select and set up welding equipment, including adjusting wire feed speed, amperage, and voltage for optimal weld quality.
  • Position, clamp, and tack-weld workpieces, jigs, and fixtures to secure parts for welding.
  • Inspect completed welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, and proper penetration, using weld gauges and other measuring tools.
  • Perform grinding, cleaning, and finishing of welds as required.
  • Conduct routine daily maintenance and inspection of welding machines and other equipment.
  • Adhere to all company and OSHA safety protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
