About The Position

The Welder is responsible for welding metal components using a gas-shielded welder while ensuring structural integrity and compliance with quality standards. This position requires working as an active and contributing team member by supporting and performing all assigned tasks within a cell group. The role may require frequent overtime, including extended daily shifts and weekend work.

Requirements

• Must achieve minimum performance goals within the designated time frame or will be disqualified from the position.
• Must obtain welder certification within the first 60 days of employment.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and extended shifts as required.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a welding certification program or vocational training preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of welding experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
• Experience in MIG and/or TIG welding techniques preferred.
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints and welding symbols is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding that fuses similar or different metals, ensuring high structural strength while minimizing distortion using proper MIG welding techniques.
• Read and interpret blueprints to verify job specifications, ensuring the correct components are welded as per design.
• Conduct a thorough inspection of the first completed piece, document findings on the job card, and record hourly quality checks.
• Report production amounts to the supervisor at the end of each shift.
• Properly tag containers to identify products and maintain accurate records.
• Utilize hand tools, fixtures, jigs, and clamps to complete welding tasks efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all company safety guidelines and industry best practices.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot welding equipment and perform basic maintenance as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
