MIG Welder / Fitter
About The Position
Seeking to add production capacity. The ideal candidate will have previous job experience but not a requirement for someone who is willing to learn. MIG, TIG, FLUXCORE. Must be skilled in reading blueprints, experience in a large machine \/ auto environment, and use grinders and cutting torches. Must be detailed oriented with all aspects of clean up and work area, must be able to operate overhead crane, must be safety conscious, dependable, team player and work independently. Job Essentials include the use of hand welding equipment to MIG or TIG weld components. Fabricate and fit components. Assemble components to build lift truck chassis. Develop fixtures and other work aids to hold and align parts. Clean finished chassis edges and spatter with portable grinder, hand file or scraper
Requirements
- Welder/Fitter must be able to multitask and keep up in a fast-paced work environment.
- Welder/Fitter needs to work well in a team setting, as well as on their own with minimal supervision.
- Minimum educational requirement: high school diploma or equivalent.
- Two+ years of experience in the field (suggested but not required).
- Be able to quickly perform basic math (such as adding and subtraction).
- Strong team player.
- Have excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Assess job and plan fitting.
- Weld chassis, components and sub-components.
- Handheld Plasma and Torch cutting as required.
- Clean, grind and finish welded product.
