About The Position

It Takes A Village Leadership Academy is seeking passionate and dedicated Middle School Teachers in the content areas of Math, Social Justice (Social Studies), and English Language Arts for our Bronzeville campus. In this role, you will create a rigorous, engaging, and culturally responsive learning environment that supports academic achievement, critical thinking, and civic engagement. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
  • Student-Centered: You prioritize the academic and social-emotional growth of students
  • Instructionally Strong: You understand curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices
  • Culturally Responsive: You believe in affirming students’ identities and experiences in the classroom
  • Collaborative: You value teamwork and open communication with families and colleagues

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Education or related field
  • Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • 3+ years of elementary teaching experience
  • Experience working in urban education or culturally responsive educational settings

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in your content area
  • Use culturally responsive teaching practices that reflect students’ identities and lived experiences
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Engage students in critical thinking, real-world problem solving, and project-based learning
  • Build strong relationships with students and families
  • Use assessments and data to inform instruction and support student growth
  • Create a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Support students’ social-emotional development and positive behavior
  • Collaborate with colleagues and leadership to continuously improve instructional practices and student outcomes
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, and documentation
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support classroom, school, and organizational needs
