Under general supervision, develops curricula and creates, implements, and delivers educational programs for student to achieve School goals. Advises, tests, and teaches students in a variety of subjects. Plans, develops and oversees community outreach programs. Promotes programs through community networking and recruiting efforts; recruits and trains tutors and teachers. May coordinate and implement recruitment and retention programs, special events, and support services. May provide financial aid/scholarship advisement for targeted student populations. A successful Jupiter Christian Teacher will: Prioritize the student as the focal point of the classroom. Commit to being both a learner and leader by identifying, exploring, evaluating, and adopting new digital resources and hands-on tools for learning. Establish a learning culture that promotes curiosity and critical thinking and fosters digital literacy and media fluency. Dedicate time to collaborate with colleagues and co-learn with students to create authentic learning experiences that leverage a number of resources including technology. Design authentic, learner-driven activities and environments that recognize and accommodate learner variability. Foster a culture where students take ownership of their learning goals and outcomes in digital platforms virtual environments, hands-on makerspaces or in the field.
