About The Position
Metrolina Regional Scholars Academy is a non-discriminatory, K-8 public charter school dedicated to providing a differentiated and challenging education for children of high intellectual ability. We foster a safe and nurturing learning environment that meets the intellectual, social, and emotional needs of our students. Scholars Academy seeks talented middle school language arts and social studies teacher to become part of our faculty. Problem based learning, real-world learning experiences; accelerated content, social-emotional learning, and intellectual engagement are at the core of the curricular program. The ideal teacher for this position is passionate about working with gifted children, committed to innovative pedagogy, and demonstrates a personal commitment to life-long learning. It is recommended that the candidate have experience developing project-based curricula, command of concept-based mathematics instruction; and the ability to develop students in areas of social-emotional learning. Scholars Academy seeks an individual who loves children, models professional ethics, and understands the rewards and challenges of teaching gifted children.
