About The Position

Providence School is seeking a full-time English Teacher for the Middle School. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English Language Arts, a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and a passion for helping students grow as thoughtful readers, writers, speakers, and critical thinkers. This teacher will challenge and inspire students academically, support their spiritual growth, and encourage each student to deepen their relationship with God. Job Responsibilities: The potential grade-level assignment includes English 8 Honors, but is subject to change year to year. Establish and maintain an effective, engaging, and orderly learning environment where students are challenged and supported Teach 8th-grade English Language Arts, including reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and literature Integrate a biblical worldview into English instruction while serving as a godly role model inside and outside the classroom Build positive relationships with students to support their spiritual, academic, emotional, and social growth Develop lesson plans, assignments, projects, assessments, and writing activities aligned with curriculum standards Foster a love for reading and writing through thoughtful text selection and meaningful discussion Craft instruction that recognizes and supports diverse learning styles Encourage critical thinking, analysis, creativity, and independent expression Evaluate and document student academic and social growth; maintain accurate records, including grades, attendance, and reports Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and counselors to support student success Participate actively in the life of the school and fulfill duties as assigned by the Middle School Principal or administration Maintain professional growth through staff development, curriculum planning, and collaborative meetings

Requirements

• Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or Higher
• Effective communication skills; both verbally and written
• Enthusiastic interest in working with middle school students
• Ability to work effectively with other professionals

Nice To Haves

• Prior Teaching Experience
• Current State of Florida and/or teaching certificate (or be willing to work toward one) exact certification requirements will vary based upon Providence courses taught and candidate degrees
