About The Position

Middle School Paraprofessionals support teachers in creating an inclusive and productive learning environment for students. The paraprofessional assists in areas guided by a student's individualized education plan (IEP). Some of those areas may include, but are not limited to, redirection, building navigation, organizational assistance, and instructional support. The paraprofessional plays a critical role in ensuring that all students receive the individualized attention they need to succeed.

Requirements

  • Experience working with middle school children.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff members, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage students' behavior.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with classroom teacher and education services staff.
  • Must be willing to fulfill physical needs of students.
  • Must be reliable and of good moral character.
  • Must meet criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist in areas guided by a student's individualized education plan (IEP).
  • Provide redirection and organizational assistance to students.
  • Help with building navigation for students.
  • Offer instructional support to students.

Benefits

  • Part Time position (5 days a week, 5.75 hours per day - total of 28.75 hours per week)
  • Salary range based on position type: General or Special Education Paraprofessional - $21,215.00 per year, ABA Non-Certified Paraprofessional - $24,455.00 per year, ABA Certified Paraprofessional - $28,257.00 per year, Braillist or Job Coach - $29,756.00 per year
